EPS Formwork for Monolithic Concrete Slabs
Simplify the perimeter. Build the slab.
Slab Master Form (SMF) is a modular expanded-polystyrene (EPS) perimeter forming system developed from ISO-SLAB technology and more than a decade of field experience with insulated monolithic slab construction.
SMF is designed for contractors, concrete professionals and distributors seeking a practical forming solution for monolithic slabs in cold, temperate and non-frost climates.
SMF provides the perimeter forming components used to shape and insulate the edge of a monolithic concrete slab.
Unlike the complete ISO-SLAB project-specific system, SMF is designed as a modular forming platform that can be integrated into locally engineered slab assemblies.
The final slab design, reinforcement, interior insulation and frost-protection requirements are determined according to the project, soil conditions, climate and applicable codes.

Standard straight perimeter component for continuous slab edges.
Each straight package covers 8 ft of perimeter. A half-length package is supplied when the layout requires it.
Factory-configured components for exterior slab corners.
Each outside corner package covers 8 ft of perimeter.
Components designed for interior or recessed perimeter conditions.
Supplied when the layout requires it.
Modular adjusters allow the perimeter configuration to accommodate different slab-edge depths and project requirements.
T-shaped extensions are available in heights from 2 to 12 inches and are sold separately.

SMF simplifies perimeter forming by using lightweight EPS components that are easy to handle and position on the prepared building pad.
The system is designed around repeatable components, reducing the amount of custom field fabrication normally associated with insulated monolithic slab edges.
SMF is intended for monolithic slab construction in which the slab and thickened perimeter can be placed as part of the same concrete operation when permitted by the project design.
Benefits can include:
simplified perimeter forming
integrated perimeter insulation
lightweight components
reduced reliance on conventional removable forms
repeatable installation procedures
local sourcing of complementary materials
compatibility with a wide range of slab geometries.
SMF can be incorporated into engineered Frost-Protected Shallow Foundation (FPSF) designs.
In cold climates, horizontal and vertical insulation requirements depend on factors including:
climate
air-freezing conditions
building use
heated or unheated conditions
soil characteristics
local building codes
project-specific engineering.
SMF itself does not replace the engineering required for a frost-protected foundation.
Frost protection is not required in every market.
In regions where frost penetration is not a design consideration, SMF can be used as an insulated perimeter forming solution for monolithic slab construction without the horizontal frost-protection configuration used in cold climates.
This makes SMF adaptable to markets ranging from northern North America to warmer U.S. states and international construction markets.
Local engineering and building-code requirements always govern the final slab configuration.
SMF can be considered for:
single-family residential construction
accessory dwelling units (ADUs)
detached garages
workshops
agricultural buildings
light-commercial construction
selected industrial applications
other engineered monolithic slab projects.

A complete, project-specific insulated monolithic structural slab system, supported by engineering.

Developed from ISO-SLAB field experience, Slab Master Form is a modular EPS perimeter-forming system designed to simplify the construction of monolithic concrete slabs and frost-protected shallow foundations.
For contractors and distributors.
SMF is designed to provide a repeatable perimeter-forming method that can become part of a contractor's normal slab construction process.
SMF components can be supplied through a distribution model while complementary construction materials can be sourced locally.
Slab Master Form combines the field experience of ISO-SLAB with a modular approach designed for broader contractor and distribution applications.
With the increasing demand for building without foundation, the search for better performing and leading-edge building techniques and over 40 years of experience in the construction field by its founder, the ISO-SLAB system slab-on-grade was designed, developed and perfected with the input and cooperation of an engineering firm and a leading polystyrene manufacturer.
